Message from the new Sailing Director

By Visitor - Posted on 28 August 2013

It has been a week since Jim left for Windsor and now that things have finally started to calm down, I thought I should introduce myself for those of you who do not know me yet.

My name is Greg Bower; I was raised in Port Coquitlam and I have been sailing at Rocky Point for the past 12 years. This is my 7th year working here at RPSA and I have spent the past 3 years as the Head Instructor. As Head Instructor I gained a tremendous amount of experience on the water, but I also gained a lot of experience working in the office with Jim, so luckily this is not all completely new to me. Though I have huge shoes to fill, I hope for the transition to be seamless and to maintain the high level of participation and sense of community that our club has achieved the past few years. I am excited to take on this new challenge because I know that with the dedicated group of volunteers, engaged members, and our excellent team of instructors, there will always be ample help to keep the club running smoothly. Feel free to send me an e-mail at or try and catch me in the office and say Hi if you would like.

Lastly, I just want to say one more huge thank you to Jim for all that he has done for the club, and to everyone who helps out around RPSA.
