Ever wonder how to become an Olympic Athlete?  Check out the pictures from the Canadian Youth Champs held in Victoria, there was a good representation of Rocky Point Sailors and a huge contigent from BC.  One of our Rocky Point sailors was invited to a Canadian team try out in Kingston Ontario.
The BC Circuit regatta schedule is online at www.bcsailing.bc.ca/Content/CIRCUIT/Main.asp.  To qualify for the BC Sailing team you need to be top of your class over this series of regattas.

This video shows how to repair scratches.  We now have an enclosed fibreglass repair area.  On Boat Maintenance nights we could repair scratched boats in the second bay since these will not rquire the enclosure.

BC Sailing hosted a meeting with member clubs at Kitsilano Yacht Club on Saturday Jan. 16th.  Past Commodore Geoff Williamson commented "It was great 2 have cya  BC sailing and lots of the local clubs in one room planning Canadas new direction! "
Future meetings have been scheduled for September and next January and have been added to the General Calendar in the About Us section of the Web site.

Adult Sailing

• Create Thursday night schedule and determine if instructor will be provided
• Have a members e-mail list for contact with adult sailors
• Think about adult race team possibly attend Jericho Classic
• Mentoring program for adults who have taken a learn to sail program
• Have Social night at OMBH or other venue once a month or week?

 Rocky Point Sailing Association Annual General Meeting was December 14th, 2009. 
A new board has been elected and ready to prepare for a new sailing season. 
There was a new honorary member elected Bruce Jamer makes the 5th honorary membership Rocky Point Sailing Association has awarded and we had the good fortune of having four of the five members at the AGM. 
 

Rocky Point Race Team is at Pumpkin bowl this weekend.  The weather is calling for rain, though, the temperatures are warm.
